Inshore Round Up - The information resource for the inshore fisheries sector

Inshore Round Up was an IEEP project that ran from 2004 to 2005 to inform those involved in the sector of developments in the area of inshore fisheries in the UK and Republic of Ireland, including new resources. It was financially supported by Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, English Nature and Countryside Council for Wales, with assistance from the Fishing News. Although the project is no longer running this site has been maintained due to continuing positive feedback on some of the information provided. It is no longer updated but we hope it continues to be useful. The project worked to be a channel for sharing news, views and experiences. Specific target audiences were fishermen and those involved in management, including government and non-government organisations.

The project consisted of three key elements:

  1. A quarterly newsletter feature in the Fishing News.
  2. A quarterly email alert - flagging up developments.
  3. A website offering more substantial information and links to documents etc

Examples of newsletter and website content include:

Inshore Round Up was established by the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP) to encourage lesson learning, sharing of best practices and inform debate on inshore fisheries management issues across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
